The Deluge

The Deluge or Flood is an historical event which took place in Sumeria towards the end of the 4th millenium BC. Survivors who occupied the land after that flood were the first Noahides who spread civilization to all the remaining children of Cain across the rest of the planet Earth. Many stories about Noah and his family evolved among the people that the first Noahites settled among but not all local flood stories can be connected to the family of Noah. Only stories which preserve the story of a family surviving the flood and repopulating the planet are likely to have descended from Sumeria's Noahite emigrants.
